I had a stroke - But I am getting better!!

Hi people!! I am almost back. I can speak really well, but I have gaps in my memory.

It has been a long road, but I am working - always working.

My sweet daughter Dakota said I am lucky, "really Mom the stoke could have left you unable to speak, or to move ..........."
So I am thanking God for all the good things in my life.

Oh- I had written a book -unedited ( boo) And I cannot figure out by book!!

I feel as though I had a stroke (heee heee) My life is crazy!!

So I wrote a shorter book - it's all about my sister, and how crazy she was as a little girl. I hope it is a good effort!!

A not so great August

So August and,I had to spend a week at the hospital to address my hypertension, and my diabetes. I am so ticked off- things were going so well. And then all hell broke crazy.

It would have not been bad without the stroke, I have forgotten words and I can no longer write - my words are no longer finding me- and I feel quite lonely -oy.

I'm doing my best and I am praying. Hope to write soon :-)

So my husband was leaving for work and I was, in my usual mode of congratulating God for giving the people of the great state of Texas the BEST skies. We went into the garage and my husband walked outside and said, "Hey Honey, double rainbows!"

Me: What??!!!! :) :) :)
He: yep. check it out.
Me: Oh my gosh
He: Oh look another one !
Me: EEEEEEEEEE! ( internally, I am a good neighbor) Oh My gosh - magic!!
He: Wow this is awesome
Me: It's a gift from God ( I had just thanked him for the skies and well......come on people follow along...............:) THREE Rainbows people.
Me: I have to get the camera
He : Hurry, I think that they are fading
Me: eeeep! ( out loud)
The camera needed charging !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our daughters make tons of home videos and movies for youtube
I plugged the camera into the outlet, attempting a quick charge - one minute good enough - mad dash to the driveway all that was left was one - I took ten Pics. Gheesh - yaaaaaah!

As you may have guessed from reading my stuff, I am an optimist. If God gave me three rainbows, he'll probably do it again - of maybe he'll give me five !!

May through July- So awesome! and yesterday a Hummingbird!

So May was graduation from university for our first born Joshua.
We drove from Texas to New York. Two eager adults and three kiddies ages: 12, 11, and 3. It really was about time for a road trip, we have been taking it way too easy on Ari (3) . He was premature and so I think we opted to not subject him to the stress of a read trip. Texas to New York: zero Ari : 1!!

We were a little concerned that he might have a bathroom problem, but no. He waited for rest stops and had an awesome time. The girls had a groovy time and we, the rents , got to appreciate the musical genius of Ms. Miley Cyrus. Really I was singing along and dancing with the hands head and shoulders. I am NOT a good dancer so my children and husband found me hilarious. We stopped often and I am now totally in love with the mountains of the grand state of Tennessee.

Our son graduated from St. Johns University and it was wonderful. The ceremony was held on the lawn and it was bright and sunny till just after we saw him march up for his recognition- NEAT.
The school provided ponchos for all in attendance and we found that quite fun. We were reminded by a lovely woman at the en of the cereminies that we should retain the invitations, as they will com in handy when repayment of the student loans begin. Totally love that New York humor!

It was a fun day, but so emotionally draining. One has to face the facts that one child is now an adult and truly no longer of one nest.

One has to let go.
We all had dinner later that evening, my younger son eating my fish dinner - shocking (he's really picky) and my older son initiating and dominating the conversation. I felt so vital. Seriously, raising children is beyond awesome. It is easy to get distracted by one's ego, thinking that you have put everything into a child and then you get to realize everyday, that it is you who has changed and has been filled up by a stranger who is so much like you, but light years ahead.................... my heart is open and light, my children are cosmic events and I float on their trains of light.

So yesterday- The Hummingbird...

My husband said,"Honey look, a hummingbird",I flew to the window. This is the secong time we have seen a hummingbird since living in Texas. It fed in my zinias and it perches on a lovely ornamental tree an then it came within 12 inches of the window TWICE!!! As if checking out it's fans. It was bloody magical and darn it I said so. I said, "This is so magical, Magical". My lovely daughters were not impressed.

Growing up in Jamaica, I saw hummingbirsds every month. Hovering, magically flying backwards, opening up enchanted new roads into my imagination. I loved them, and I still think that they were created simply for me. I'm a little self involved sometimes, but really wouldn't you be if God created a whole species just for you? Be honest :-)

What's not to love, they are as obscessed with clean toilets and posteriors as I am. My dead grammie would be proud. I saw this ad on my favorite blog www.dooce.com and well I just laughed..
I am annoyingly optimistic and I can be happy on call at any time, so this kind of revelry crisps my bacon. Hee Hee!! Happiness is more than a state of mind- it is a choice of grace, who are you and what do you want to feel. It is never 'how', it is 'what' and that distinction can put you on the road to happy in short order.

But, why surrender now?

Did you ever wonder why criminals surrender? Why they run and then flop across the long arms of the law- spent?
In January of this year the bodies of Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach and that of her unborn baby were found buried in the back yard of the home shared by Cpl. Cesar Laurean and his wife.

Maria Lauterbach was raped by Cesar Laurean and her baby was evidence of his crime. This crime was ignored by everyone including the young woman's own mother - but that's another story. The crime was being 'investigated' by the Marines, but even when she disappeared, the opinions of others regarding her honesty outweighed the belief that she could have been harmed. She lived with a guard across her mouth and even in death those who should have loved her attempted to silence her.

Well now Cesar Laurean has thrown himself against the Mexican authorities and he will be extradited to the United States. OY.

So why now? Why is he suddenly weary of running? And what's all this talk about "proof"?
I have always suspected that his wife may have had something to do with this crime. Consider a pregnant woman ringing your doorbell and declaring that she is carrying a child conceived through a rape and that the rapist is your husband. I would call the police, many other women might take matters into their own hands.........

Is he suddenly feeling less honor bound to his wife? Perhaps the wife- in a fit of jealousy, anger, fear- struck back at Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach and killed her. Then she called her husband- then he helped in the cleanup and disposal (sorry) of the bodies (the baby). This is not really a stretch is it?

So, Hillary can remember with clarity, something that never happened, in Bosnia.
In politics this is called 'misspeaking' in the real world- starting at home with one's Mom, things like this are called 'LYING'.
So what gives? has it now become acceptable for the Senator from New York to lie, only to excuse herself by stating the obvious "I'm human.."
What are liberals supposed to tell their children? Will this open a Pandora's Box of "I did not lie Mom, I misspoke, you said that it was O.K. when Hilary misspoke..."

Remember what former President Clinton's misspeaking did for sex in America? The suggestions from his jaunt against a woman who was not his wife, was that sex wasn't sex and there were millions of whores and whore supporters and enablers who embraced that LIE.

Everyone lies, but when we are caught, or when our moral compass tugs at our mind we apologize, chastise ourselves for being floppy pricks and move on.

We are considered mentally twisted (the medical term) if we pretend that the problem is with others.
Hillary has enjoyed a lifetime of lies and now that the spigot is on full force, she is finding it difficult to turn it down.
I tell my children that they need to tell the truth at all times. It is always better to take a few steps back to preserve your claim to authenticity.
Now, as a Republican, I have seen the current administration lie to the cost of thousands of lives.
Everyone,save the crazies, have acknowledged that we as a nation have been 'hoodwinked', but really do we want another four years of someone who thinks that it is o.k. to play loosey goosey with the truth?
I am reminded of something I heard years ago- I think that it was from Maya Angelou- When people show you who they are, believe them.

Hilary has shown us that neither her memory nor her tongue can be trusted- we should believe her.

Once you bite the BULLET- you're done!!

So this Saturday, my husband and I took the kiddies to Kemah, TEXAS. They have a cute boardwalk and lots of over priced water" $3.00 for 20 ounces of Desani- Sheesh!!. But we drank it and we liked it so there and wel l you are not allowed to bring in your own water so.....

Anyhoo, I have never ridden a coaster, I lived in New York and I have watched friends mount that wooded death trap on Coney Island with-mild disdain. Perhaps even intense pity.
So what would make me mount the BULLET at Kemah? My daughters (12 &10). "Ohh Oh Mommie Please!" "Oh gosh it would be sooooooo much fun" "MOM Really!!"

Well we were really early to Kemah, arriving around 9:45AM and the place was practically deserted( Starbucks was open)

1) We were behind 15 people on line for the BULLET.
2) I am a morning person -always have been. If you would like to get me to do anything daring and reckless catch me before 11 A.M.
3) My children can get me to do practically anything.
4) My husband said, "Go on honey, I'll just hang out with Ari". ( Ari is 31/2)

We all walked up an huge winding ramp, I passes by all the warnings without reading them, because I had taken my purse and I was securing my purse and glasses.....

As we buckled in and the bars were set my lovely older daughter said, "Well the sign did say you should not ride if you have any doubts-hee hee"

"What?? Seriously??!!! What!"
Wait I have doubts....
What followed was the most terrifying ride of my life. This ride is insane INSANE. I started screaming until I realized that this just amped the intensity, then my body started crying- crying.
I prayed and then I heard a "tick tick ticktick" The gears, as we climbed and then the drop - my younger daughter gave a little yelp and then I simply went to the only affirmation I could find:

"GOD, Dear GOD I Am NOT Afraid" -It helped

Truth: I was afraid, but once into the fear you just have to ride it out, and when you have stopped you realize that you have come through something 'kinda WOW'.
I could barely stand on steady feel once the machine let me go :-)
My daughters ran ahead and I was walking/running like an old chick rasping "wait for me"

My fear also has been immortalized -My husband bought the picture of my down the wooden hill torture. So there.

True: there are faster coasters, true: I am a little wussy, True: Kids can 'make' you do dopey things.
True: You will never regret it.
True: My entire body hurts two days later, not because of the BULLET, but because of all the walking and the FUN. Tomorrow I will tell you about the speedboat and the fun crew and how I totally love spending time with my family !

Hillary -as Cheese

Will this candidate ever go away? What is it about her that makes me fearful?
Is it because she's so damn unlikeable? I admit that that is unfair, because many people find me unlikeable, simply because I'm pretty ambitious. I like to win, I love winning, and I like fair play.

I think that it is perfectly acceptable for the Senator from New York to attack the Senator from Illinois. The substance of the attacks are what I consider troubling. Hillary Clinton does not seem to be alive to the fact that our country is in an economic depression (Wall Street is another thing). Hillary Clinton can use stories of struggling Americans to punch up her speeches, but does she really understand what it is like to have no money. Does she understand that there are children in America who eat only two meals daily, breakfast and lunch at school.

Does she truly understand that we would not have a financial health crisis if practically every dollar of Medicaid was not going to serve illegal aliens. Does she realize that if an uninsured working American takes a child to the hospital, that visit will put that family in debt because they cannot secure Medicaid? Does she realize that it is not that people do not want medical coverage, it is that thay sometimes cannot even afford the co-pay!!!

It is that bad.

Does she realize that companies are opting to export professional work to foreign countries- not because we do not have an able workforce here, but because many corporations seek to avoid paying a fair wage? Does she care, or is this run simply a mad dash for power?

For obvious reasons, I knew that she would take Ohio- it is obvious that they are not as concerned for their job losses as the rest of the country is. NAFTA is a big deal and it has caused a level of progressive shift away from the U.S. that will be difficult to rectify. To a large degree most Americans do not understand how the country works. They do not understand money, nor do they understand economic cause and effect. Many approach life with a guidebook from the crazy Right (note: this does not mean Republican) or from the crazy left.
With this approach, we have a country operating on the principles of 'anything goes'. This then leaves the rest of us jumping about and shouting 'no ,no, no, no!
With this backdrop we have a country teetering on the brink and the citizens think that 'everything is alright in America'.

Tomorrow I head to the polls in Texas and with a heavy heart, I will vote for a Democrat. I really want to vomit about the whole thing, but what can I do? I cannot vote for John McCain, and my second choice Huckabee has lost his hold on the voters, Romney- my first option- dead. How can Republicans be so wrong?
I have been a Republican since I migrated and it was a fully explored decision. The Democratic party was the one that called for us immigrants to stay in our place, while the Republican party called for self reliance and honor and duty. It was a code of ethics that appealed to me on a practical level. It resonated with many of the people I have come to call friends, because they too believe in the American promise that if you fall you can always find the resources, spiritual or financial to get up.
The Republican ideal calls for us to always get up and to always move forward. Now there are those who call themselves 'Republicans', 'right-wing', 'far right', 'conservatives' or the 'moral right'. They have no real idea about how the country works- that balance between what we want and what we can afford, yet they are determined to affect policy. They are not concerned with the need for emotional buoyancy in our country, but they decry the deflated feelings and actions of the most affected members of our society (the middle class).
I know that we can't have Ronald Reagan, but McCain?? This man has a psychological score to settle and I am positive that our country will be left picking up the shards of glass. A leader who needs war and encourages the expansion of a war that was poorly planned and pathetically executed is dangerous and bloody mental. A leader who encouraged men and women to fight until they are broken only to come home and be denied care for their trauma and wounds is one who cannot be trusted with power over a people who are too afraid to say -NO.

A leader who stood up against water boarding before he entered the race , only to vote against the measure to abolish the practice now that he is in the race is not worthy of any vote. This is beyond waffling - it instead points directly to his character and the obvious deficits.

I cannot vote for Hillary Clinton because it would be unreasonable for me to think that she would be in charge. I can hear the rasps of 'you hag', but bear with me. This is the same woman who stood still by a man who repeatedly, publicly and tastelessly cheated on her. She did nothing and yet we are to believe that he will have no control in the running of our country.
I do not agree with asking the female candidate if she can control her husband, particularly because that question is tasteless and that we already know the answer to that query.

I believe that William Clinton would again have his sticky hands all over the affairs of this country and we would not survive another bout. The Senator talks about leadership and experience yet what has she done with this experience?
Also just who is Hillary Clinton? Is she the smiling, I'm-so honored-to be-here candidate, the tired weeping (misty) candidate or the screaming angry woman complaining about an old campaign poster? I'm not saying that she's unstable, but I have learned nothing new about Hillary Clinton during this run and I do not know what face to buy.
Yes she can rub shoulders and forge back room deals with the big boys, but is that what America is all about? Are we not about transparency, do we not encourage those testing the seeds of Democracy to deal from a clean deck?

I am voting for Senator Obama because he appears to be open to having a reasonable dialogue with the American people. He seems to want our country to operate for all the people and not those those who are rich, or poor, but for the millions of others who are beginning to feel like Serfs in their own country. Emotionally, he is a mix of Michael Manley and Edward Seaga, both were Prime Ministers of Jamaica. They belonged to opposing parties, made radically different decisions about Jamaica, but they loved their country. I am hoping that Senator Obama, if he prevails will have Manley's tenderness and raw love for the people coupled with Seaga's practical belief in self reliance, a balanced budgeteducation and naked balls.
We need someone who is going to take the economic problems and the staggering debt by the scruff and tell the financially illiterate American people the truth about, the failing dollar, this frighteningly expensive war, and the economy which is now a five hundred pound woman, running in four inch Manolo Blahniks.
So I am voting tomorrow, for a Democrat and I am still unsettled by that fact, but I am reminded that I did vote for President George W. Bush- twice, and he has proven in many ways the he is no Republican.

.....Then again, there is Mike Huckabee, and we Christians need to show active support for those who are in agreement with us. Decisions....

What to do if you've lost your bananas.

I guess I really wanted to listen to Audrey Hepburn but one can hardly refuse the genius of muppets. So what if there is that key ingredient missing from your day. What does one do without one's essential bananas? The answer I have found is everything else. Life has so many open doors that there is never a reason to be bored, tired perhaps, but never bored. There are always ways to fill the days and to find one's purpose for the hours or day. My girls are 10 and 12 and they have become old pros at the home school. So professional that I am sometimes at a loss because they are so far ahead. I'll assign work that by it's design should require two hours of their time and they will finish in thirty minutes- sans mistake!
I then question the rigor of the work ......Finding no problems- I am convinced that they are golden!
My three year old is suddenly annoyingly independent! "You go", he says - with authority!

I know- OY.

My bananas are my books- I am having a really hard time - I am blocked- yet I know that there is no block, there is just me. I am lying across the roads and the tributaries of my thoughts and I cannot seem to remove myself. I seem afraid of my own voice, weird and strange (yes both) since I already know the sound of my own voice.
I have to grade a few papers and then get back to talking again- I'm not really 'worried' - I'll Ketchup :-)

Everyone needs a fight song and this does it for me! What's your fight song? What gets you pumped? When things suck or when they are so great - words fail you, that my friend is when you need a fight song. Citi posts a $10 BILLION loss, Bank of America is buying that great example of stellar underwriting principles- Countrywide- Fight song!
When your blood sugar is high and you haven't had a gram of sugar in days - you bloody need a fight song!
When you look in the mirror and you looook goood! You can hear your fight song playing- You KNOW what I am talking about !

So HAKA like a Maori, I do and laugh if you must, I sometimes HAKA naked !! HA!

I just cannot take myself seriously when things suck, because I have the simmer and implode gene. Unfortunately I have a deactivated explosion gene although many people actually think that they have seen me angry- phfff..f .

Anyhoo, I need a fight song for this year, because I aim to finish all of my BIG projects this year. Yes - all of them. This is when my mentor - a certain Ms. Bakker would interject with a "ahem, Dionne, did you say 'all' of your BIG projects?" and I would have to say- Yes.
I'm a shoot for the stars kind of girl, I dream big, I win big and I often fail big, HEY - but let me tell you about the wins! Yeah :-)

Life is sooo funny!

This bit is so funny and I find that it reflects the annoying drama of our current 'run for the white house'. While I am no fan of Hilary Clinton, I am more than annoyed at the questions regarding her ability to "control her husband". When has it ever been a woman's job to control her husband. The fact that many of those asking the question are also chicks- really pomps my poodle. Sheesh. So it is not enough that a woman may have to take executive charge of the United States- she must also see to it that her husband a grown man is being controlled. What is even more shocking- is the fact that Madame Hillary has answered in the affirmative!! Yes apparently she can and she will control former President William Clinton. Surprisingly, no one has asked Senators Obama or McMcain if either man planned to control their wives. It is probably a question that we should pose to the men because as a wife and a chick - I know that I have often said some pretty outrageous things. Yes - things that if they left our bedroom would give my husband pause on any podium. Why? because I am human and I am a woman and it it my job to shake things up-Period. Now Michelle Obama is a really bright woman and she will probably say what's on her mind- but will that be a problem. Men are often treated with kid gloves, 'let us not worry their pretty little heads, they have man business to tend and to grow'
Women are required to do everything therefore even a tenure as chief executive of the world most hard working republic- she still needs to multi-task. Why did she not inquire of the reporter if such control exists in her own home. These are questions that people ask without concern for the realities that we mothers, wives and house chicks face. We are too busy controlling our own real estate that we would be hard pressed to control our husbands.
Marriage is a partnership, and often our husbands offer their opinions, if it is a good marriage we are never annoyed at the opinions. If one is charged with controlling an entire country - well- the more well presented opinions the better. But the idea that a woman in control of the United States would be so weak that her husband would just run roughshod over her presidency is remarkably stupid. The reporters and the news organizations that continue with these stupid questions reflect an America more stupid than the clods in Saudi Arabia.
Marriage is a partnership with the one you love, the presidency is a love affair with the American people- it's a partnership, and it it opinionated input that make partnerships great- well, at least in our house.

Just over a fortnight ago my Hubby had a man cold, with a fever and everything!!!! I felt so badly for him, I made him soup and tea and I was so in charge - HEEEE HEE he he heeee. He's better now.

Pregnant and missing. Marine Lauterbach is dead.

So what do you do when you tell your Mother that you were raped by a fellow Marine. In a world that cares for it's women and it's daughters, that mother would fight for justice and do everything to return her daughter's life to one that understood the word security.

This was not the world of Lance Cpl. Maria Frances Lauterbach. In her world, her 'mom' would tell investigators that she was "bipolar" and that she was a "compulsive liar". This would then prompt the brilliant, caring and local sheriff Ed Brown to make statements that implied ( at least to my ears) that she had done something and that she should just come home. Now she's dead! DEAD. MURDERED. I wonder what her helpful mother is saying. Perhaps she's not dead- perhaps her state is simply a compulsive lie. I read a few message boards and the majority of what I read was beyond disturbing. People were more concerned that this poor woman who was raped, had a male roommate than over the fact that she was in her ninth month of pregnancy and missing.

The mother considered her a compulsive liar- so of course everyone believed that. And of course compulsive liars can never be raped - PIFFLE!!!!!!! Why do women add to the destruction of other women? Why do so many mothers hate their daughters? How sooner would Maria Frances have been found had her 'mother' chosen not to assassinate her character?
Why is it that we complain about the treatment of women in foreign countries, when women are treated similarly in the United States.

According to the last story- her body has not been recovered, but she was allegedly buried in a shallow grave- seems fitting for a girl who cried for help to a family that ignored her and left her for the maggots of lies. I pray for us all, and I weep for all the young girls who live out their lives with secrets, fear and shame in their hearts BECAUSE- they know that no one will believe them.

Politics 2008 Change to What???

Ordinarily, I am a political hog. I love politics. It was therefore quite perplexing that I have had a an oppressive sense of ennui for the past two years. It is possibly due to the fact that I twice voted for the current administration, only to have to admit that I have voted for 'Republicans' who have no idea what being a Republican is. I am a strict constructionist when it comes to the Constitution, and it has therefore been quite disheartening to see the President's use of fear and other heavy handed tactics turn our Constitutional protections into a box of used tissues.
I do not regret my vote, I am just angry, and I am even more angry to see the pool of idiots that are currently hoping to claim the spoils of President Bush. I am a Republican- this cannot change because the Republican party is the only one that truly represents the plan of the people. As an immigrant, I have always viewed America as a shiny box of parts. Everything is here, every dream can be realized with proper planning and the understanding that if the dreams fall apart- we can still start over and eventually succeed. The Democrats have no such understanding of what America stands for. Theirs is a party of divisions, of the poor and the inner city, of the down trodden and those privilege enough to lend a hand. Theirs is the party that allows for filthy racial quotas and lowered test scores. In short the Democratic party needs it's members to remember their place.
As an immigrant- I choose my place and I will change it through planning and hard word. I know what it feels like to fall, to fail and to rise and to win, so no I know who I am. The problem though is that every nominee is desperate to be Barack Obama. Everyone is offerng 'CHANGE'. The problem is that no one - especially Obama has expressed what that change is. What's going to happen? What will they change? what needs changing? I happen to like Ron Paul, but it seems that so far, he can raise massive amounts of money, but he had never been able to capture a top three position. It is quite disheartening because his inability to gain traction has everything to do with the general population inability to understand basic economics and basic political facts. Ron Paul is correct- we cannot sustain this war for the long term- three years - ten years- are you kidding me?
I like Mitt Romney, who is currently having to deal with religious bigotry from the Christian right, and he's a Christian. It's bloody insane. Pat Roberts - a big guy in Christian circles endorsed Giuliani -AHRRRGH. Giuliani who thinks it's OK to be gay and have the full protection of the society, kill babies (yes the unborn are babies) and well, make so many thoughtless decisions that he is now on his third or fourth wife. Sheesh I get it, you know he fall in love easily or he get bored or whatever! When a Christian endorses Giuliani it's pretty hard to hold that 'christian' in high regard.
Huckabee - wow, well who wouldn't like him, this is a man who has proven that he can make a commitment and stick to it (I'm referring to his massive weight loss) um he's a Baptist minister and he too seems to have a problem with Romney's Mormonism.
Then there's on the left- Hilary. Do we want the Clintons back in the White House. Last time they held court in the oval office, there was a 'breakdown' in discipline. While I do not believe in holding the past against those who may have changed, there is still the talk of socializing every bloody thing. I cannot seem to muster the strength to wail! Perhaps I'll be thrilled com Super Tuesday.

All I want for Christmas!

It's finally 2008! Who hoo! I had a great 2007, my family was so blessed that I have no complaints. I was able to say a prayer of thanks everyday ( I may have missed forty or so) Sometimes forgetting that God is blessing you occurs when you are overwhelmed with blessings. Everything is wonderful- but I still feel that there is something missing...
Superficially, I am thinking that I am missing the Kindle from Amazon.com. The kindle is a wireless reading device- Wireless? - yes! you don't have to sync a thing!!

I really am a book girl- but I have to give in to technology and the Kindle is only 0.7 inches thick and well, who could look away from such a light reading facilitator. I suppose I am getting a little tired of waiting on Amazon and B&N to send my books in 2 days! Sheesh!
I decided to buy my own Kindle and they are sold out at Amazon !!! I'll wait.

Spiritually I think I am missing my mission- I have a book that I have been editing for such a bloody long time it is beginning to feel like dinner with extended family members- you know...
I feel like I am ripping of my own dream because this book seems bigger than the box that I brought to put it in. Crazy, because I know that I can handle it and I am never afraid of the things that I write, but I question weather I can make a difference sometimes. So ready or not I am going to publish in April of 2008- there I've said it.

Like Mondays, a New Year is a great beginning and I am frothy with buoyancy as that one voice in my head like to say. This year comes loaded with possibilities and wonderful probabilities and my heart is wide open. I will have prayers of thanks everyday and a big wide smile in my cockles!!! Love

Some days I ask God why I was not given the gift to sing, and then I am in the tub and I realize that - HEY I can SING!

This revelation is often short lived, OY!!

Then I see this dude (Nick Pitera)on youtube and I am again asking, "um Why HIM!" Anyhoo, I have other gifts three of which are quite wonderful (one is unmentionable (tee Hee)) But isn't it wonderful that GOD can gift this man with such amazing talent. My pre- pubescent daughters are not fans- but they are still young, and no boy should mess with Ariel!

Many people race through life without ever finding their gift(s) and they are quite miserable because of this. I recognized one of my gifts very early- only to say "NAH". Boy was I wrong, the thing is that our gifts will chase us into the light and even into our darkest places , and they will demand recognition. Our gifts are like children- they will not be ignored, and if we spend our time attempting to force them into boxes- they will rebel and they will take -us -out.
So sing because God is watching and he will love your tune, and your melody and your 'ungodly' croaking. What he will hear is the love in your heart and the joy behind your closed eyes.

Gosh I adore you- really, even certain members of my family refuse to read my writings.SNARF!
I could just stop, but how do you shut off who you are? Impossible, eventually the essential oils of you will seep out and leave a nasty stain on the floor. On the days when your YOU has nothing to do- it will simply lend warmth your tummy and you will wonder why you suddenly feel like you are eight years old again. It's like the day you realized that you are so freaking special because God made only one 'YOU'. If you haven't realized that as yet, well sweetie, you need to grow up. Growing up is messy and difficult, but only if you fight your own power. You rock, and you have a God-given mission on this earth, do your mission, live your life, choose your own bloody major, or not, love the best guy/girl (never the guy/girl who's just 'good enough')dance like nobody is watching, but keep your clothes on ( you tube- oy) be honest with yourself - some of your friends, family, drinking buddies, cheesecake budddies - SUCK. It is so OK to dump them. You really deserve better, and yes today you may feel a little oily, but gosh darn it you're essential!

Mr. Rogers and the Power of words.

In 1969, the US Senate had a hearing on funding the proposed Corporation for Public Broadcasting, but President Nixon wanted it cut in half for the Vietnam War.

I loved Mister Rogers, he was always so calm and accepting of other, and always willing to lend a hand. He taught so many children that there is true value in who they are- right now. In Mr. Roger's world, there was always a starting point. Life was never perfect but we could always choose to live perfectly. As a little kid in Jamaica,curled up on my veranda reading Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys life was never perfect, but I could always imagine the solutions. I could choose to become pinched and depressed and do nothing, or I could plan and wait for that open crack that always comes. Then, I would jump- ready- willing - able and HAPPY. Mr. Rogers was one of the reigning princes in a world with soft voices and solutions and I will always love him. He was the calm prince who cared enough to stand up for the littlest guys -KIDS!

I suppose it is really easy to assume that time either accelerates or decelerates in order to accommodate our pain and or excitement. Sadly this is never the case , indeed we find ourselves experiencing hundreds of emotions, coming into contact with different personalities- some offer us love, while others do nothing but bring pain. We pause, we hold onto the last breath and we pray or curse or cry. It doesn't matter- time does not wait and when the connections are made - ones sought or otherwise.... life demands a synopsis of what was learned.

There are no excuses, and if we get caught up with the sadness or the euphoria - we learn nothing and we find ourselves repeating painful lessons that should have been nothing but 'oy' memories.
The thing is, everything that we experience - live through, can produce the deepest chuckle. We laugh at the past- or really I laugh at the past stuff, because it all is so trivial once we get the lesson. Sometimes getting the lesson is pretty difficult because we wrap ourselves around the pain and refuse to just let go.

Life is really quite simple, and the sooner w realize this the quicker we'll accelerate past the pain and silliness that we find when our realities intersect with others. In life we will always encounter problems- always. Those of us who are quite lucky will first experience problems in our families. Painful- yes, but once we reach the point where we realize that holding on to dysfunction and painful living is just not us- well then that's when the real living starts to percolate. Life is like melting chocolate- you have to watch it - you cannot leave the darn chunks in a double boiler and watch PBS. The double boiler only know how to boil- it will not judge it's strength with you precious chocolate.

Our lives are similar- no one has the power to mind our lives but that sweet special person- 'you'

I will never be as cool as my children expect me to be, and any attempts on my part to be cool would be quite pathetic! Yep I am that mature.

Just because we know that no self respecting Conservative would vote for Rudolf Giuliani - doesn't mean that we need to strap our saddle to just any NRA loving actor. Your love of a gun doesn't make you a proper candidate for the Presidency- ask any rapper! (no offense to armed rappers)
Hell - let's ask him some real questions, and for goodness sakes let's allow him to answer. Let him join in on a debate or two.

Actress' Abortion Written Into TV Show

CULVER CITY, CA-Producers considered shooting around the abortion and using lighting tricks and strategically placed plants to cover up her uterus.

It's insane really, first the actress decides to have a child, the producers then have to decide how to conceal the pregnancy- which was not a part of the plot.

THEN- the actress decides that the baby was not worth keeping and then yaaah- they decide to include her decision to kill the baby, in the script!

Now I have never seen this show, and I really don't care to see it, however have we gone so far off the deep end in America- that abortion is now used as art?

Have we abandoned decency and slid so far into iniquity, that death is now artsy?
There is no shame anymore. No personal- 'what the heck am I thinking' reflection in our lives anymore.

'It's like - first I want my baby, then I like don't want my baby and then I realize that it's not like human so like I like abort it!!!!!!!'

We sometimes lose touch with reality. We begin to really believe that our in boxes are the most important things in life. We turn around and we realize that we do not know who we are. We keep our secret yearnings locked away and we work to make the dreams of our employers a reality. We watch and wonder when our time will come and we continue on the never ending unicycle - keep it steady - don't want to fall off!

What would happen if we got off , if we wandered for a while, what would we find? What if we decided to find out he truths about who we really are. Would we be surprised- flabbergasted -excited - freaked out? I meet people who have no idea who they are- forget doing what they love- many people can not even express their favorite ice cream flavor.

I ask you if you can't figure out your favorite flavor of ice cream- have you realistically thought about your life :-). My is pistachio and I have tried about forty flavors!!

Wander- aim for nothing and see what you discover , it really is a wonderful habit to form. Many adults are not willing to 'waste time' in order to wander; but blissfully skipping or sauntering through the lanes of our minds may bring us face to face with ourselves.
The hopes and dreams that we had before we were introduced to that awful word- impossible.

This does not have to be a daily goal, even a monthly 2-hour escape would be a wonderful respite. Be prepared to ask yourself some real truths- and be prepared for the answers. Prepare also for the possibility that you may at first become aware of nothing; and if that happens- relax and look forward to you next wander through the fields.

You make not find the elixir for world peace, but you make equip yourself to manage that unicycle a lot better. You may even decide that the unicycle is really not for you.

I am feeling really groovy today. Our official Home school has been humming along for the past three days of the new year, and all the kiddies are excited and working.
OK- actually the three year old- Ari, has no desire to work. He has his own folder of activities, but he seems more interested in drawing kittens (he calls them mews) and 'earning' praise stickers!
I actually underestimated the girls this year. They are faster than last term and I have had to scramble to provide worksheets and tests, above the planned curriculum to fill their time - and we have really full days!
This is so exciting, because we might be able to add an additional hour of geography this year! We are studying the American Government this year and the girls will start their projects on the Presidency next week.
They did extraordinarily well last year and tested above their grade levels. I am quite proud of their consistent work and even of my teaching, because last year I endured a long and painful depression. It was the first time in my life that I have had to have a serious talk with my children about my illness. I have been suffering from depression since I was a small child - around nine years old,and I have always regarded the illness a sad curse. I have tried several medications and I found actual relief with Paxil- WOW was it awesome!!!!!!!! - and then the side effects became 'aggressive' so - away with Paxil and after a couple of weeks, I could literally feel the depression undulate against my peace.
Depression sucks!
But I feel so much better now! God has been very good to me, and I have an awesome family.

Also I called my friend Lane today and we had a wow conversation as the children got ready for their day. It was only about a twenty minute chat but she is so very marvelous, that it felt very filling - do you know?
We used to be neighbors -Lane and I, and I was always so busy and/or depressed that I did not socialize aggressively.I hate spreading the icks! Now that I have moved away (only about 7 miles or so) I realized that I really missed her. Neat Huh!

She's also a writer and really that makes her so much more special than the average bloke or blokette you meet everyday. Anyhoo the lunch break is at its' end. Have a great day people. OH- here is this great list of things to do everyday to increase your happiness. I 'do' at least five of these things EVERYDAY, and it makes me feel as if I am a giver and not simply a pouty taker in this world- try some , it's super good!!

The 10 steps to happiness:

Plant something and nurture it
Count your blessings - at least five - at the end of each day
Take time to talk - have an hour-long conversation with a loved one each week
Phone a friend whom you have not spoken to for a while and arrange to meet up

Defective Condoms in South Africa

The government - has not always been kind to those infected, however they do allow for condom distribution in order to slow the spread of the disease.

So in order to help - a government official decided to take a bribe and allowed defective condoms to be purchased!

Surprise - he wasn't put to death!

Really- should we care about Africa- when the Africans do not seem to care about each other?

I heard the song "for What It's Worth" today and I thought about the reprehensible situation in Darfur. There is no reason for this to be happening, the world has had several dances with genocide and it seems that everyone is short on caring. Poor people, those without voices and political connections, those with nothing to trade are being murdered like mange afflicted dogs.
There is absolutely no reason for this to be happening. The Bridge of Hope Ministry in Ohio, pastored by Rod Parsley has been trying to help these poor people for years now. We send out few dollars to buy children from the Muslim overlords and we help with a few dollars to help women who were raped and brutalized and we wait- Everyday there is a new danger for these people- God's people. Everyday ministries like Bridge of Hope ask us to give a little to help but the help does not stop the new and vulgar ways men have practiced to maim and to murder. NOW WHAT!

Christians cared and acted long before the Sudanese Government had to acknowledge the atrocities, and certainly long before our government even commented at length about the murders and rapes and destruction. Long before Condelesa Rice appealed to the congress for their attention to this matter- Long before the Congress chose to do nothing. You see- even if the Sudanese Government can give us key members of Al Quida -it is morally out of bounds for us to give them what appears to be tacit approval to murder peoples' bodies and souls; I am so sad I could cry-

We will one day beheld accountable for the sins that we chose to ignore. One day we will be asked why we did nothing. I do not know what to do- but I tell you, it is one of the things that keep me up at night. Children are dying, women and men are dying and they die thinking that they, are nothing in this world. Villages are burned into the sands as I sit here and wonder what I can do.

China and Mattel

I suppose the title of this entry should be China and corporate America; given the latest massive toy recall is further proof that this off-shoring of labor is a really bad idea. As a cynical consumer I really do believe that Mattel knew about this lead paint problem and the use of high powered magnet since 2002 - yes the toy recall extends to 2002.

The chairman of Mattel really does expect that the average American parent will believe that after all those years, they were simply duped and now yikes- they have to protect the children. Sadly he is correct- a few days after the recall, I saw an interview with a mother of five who felt unsure as to what she will do. She did not want to discard the toys until she was sure of what was going on!

As a mother- I was stunned- The makers of the toys listed what was under the recall, yet this American Mother was not sure of her next move. Sheesh it is no wonder what harmful and deadly tricks corporations can pull and simply walk away smiling.

My daughters - after watching the news report and checking the list went upstairs immediately; I then found them separating all the questionable toys - the girls are 10 and 11. The children even discarded their many Barbies out of protest, they even had their three year old brother helping.

Children are not attached to things, it is the parents who push cheap baubles at them, only to then wonder how their children become so focused on material things.
We do not allow our children countless toys, but we will present them with any book they need or want. Our children need to learn the art of thinking, in order to recover from a society of adults who are unable to make a reasonable decision.

This idea that Americans need cheaply produced goods in order to continue growing this hungry consumerism baby is insane. Many rush to the stores to stock up on every painted plastic crap they can get their hands on in order to amuse children who simply need love,attention and a few good books.

China has now become a driven marketplace, and only those who drive her can effectively disengage from her. We do not need under priced Barbies and every toy reflective of every Disney or Pixar compilation. We need children who are engaged in learning and exploring their innate infinite curiosities.
The problem now is not just the lead and the magnets- it's the lies:

We appraised them of our standards and they ignored us...

Many Americans are at heart- (even with the lady in New York beckoning others (like Me)to her lovely shores)- transparent
So now China is the evil destroyer of young American brains, and the poor fellows and ladies in the corporate offices- the ones who structured the deals and were required to test the standards- have been misused by the evil Asian bastards.

Americans need to wake up and realize that we are our own homeland security. It is our job to respond immediately to any offense against our children. We need not wait for clarification from a corporate tool who really does not care. We are responsible and if we feel that corporations do not have our best interest at heart ( hint: they don't) we should separate them from our purse strings.

Perhaps for Christmas this year or for the next special gift we could offer our children books. We do and they love us all the same

Tammy Faye the wonderfully vivacious televangelist has died. I will hopefully meet her one day in Heaven. She was amazing - and dared to be stylish in an environment that often dictates how a Christian woman should dress. She beckoned us into her world with her heavily made lashes and her painted lips and she shamelessly and consistently called out the name Jesus. Her last interviews were a testament to courage and faith. She chose not to hide her disease from the public and proved to all Christians and others that even when the body fails one can still find strength and JOY by calling on the only name that matters JESUS. My Dear Friends,

It has been such a long time since I've written and I am so sorry for the long delay. I have been in bed for almost a year now. I have times when I feel good and times when I feel really bad. But, I have learned one thing about feelings. They have NOTHING TO DO WITH FAITH IN GOD!! He is the SAME yesterday, today and forever. He NEVER changes. That is what the Bible says and God's word does not lie EVER!

There have been many days when I felt so terrible with my back and stomach, that I have hardly been able to breath. I cry out to the Lord knowing that many of you are praying for me. In spite of it all, I get dressed and go out to eat. I may only be able to eat one bite, or sometimes ten bites, but I swallow each bite in "faith believing". There are MANY times it doesn't stay with me long at all, but I keep trying and HE helps me.

My daughter is here a lot of the times to give me my medications and to make sure I don't forget. When I got sick, she literally moved in and gave me hugs and kisses that are so needful during this period of ones life. She said, "I want to take care of my Mom". I gave her the last couple weeks off to go home and spend time with her children, James and John. They are well taken care of while Sissy is gone. My girlfriend, Deborah has been staying with me for the past 3 weeks. We have been friends for thirty years, so we know each other well! She gave Tammy Sue some much needed rest and she has taken up where Sissy left off. She will be here for two more weeks. How grateful I am to have such strong, loving, support around me. Then of course, there is my wonderful husband! We moved from Charlotte, N.C. to Kansas City, Missouri. He came here every weekend to build me a new house and when I got here, it was ready to move into, bed and all!! They had it beautiful and it is the most beautiful home I have ever seen. He has wanted to build me a house for 13 years, and I finally let him! His children and grandchildren have come every weekend to visit us, and it is so much fun! Someone I cannot forget is a friend named Daina. She worked so hard, I thought she was going to get sick. Bless her heart. I have to have help eating, bathing, doing my hair, taking my medicine, and help just getting comfortable, which is really hard for me to do.

I try really hard to eat and keep the food down, but sometimes, it is like my throat would just shut down on me, and the food comes right back up. So through all the prayers, I have finally gained some weight. I have gone from 60 pounds, to 65, for which I am very thankful.

I ask in great humbleness that you pray that I will be able to eat without it coming back up. I crave hamburgers and french fries with LOTS of ketchup! When I can eat that again, it will be a day of victory!

In closing, I want you to know that I am praying for you and your loved ones and I am believing God for complete healing. God is a healer of EVERYTHING!

I will let you know when I get to eat my hamburger! HA!

I do not suppose that anyone was shocked at the firing of Isaiah Washington from the "Grey's Anatomy" cast. Gee most of us saw the hammer falling months ago. He was defiant and then filled with remorse, we even saw that he attended rehab. I guess Hollywood is now admitting that rehab is just a joke, and that no amount of intervention can change anyone. Indeed it seems that their insistence that he enter rehab was done in order to shame him. It is after all, wrong to not support the gay agenda. It as wrong to not accept their fact that they were indeed, "born this way" and we need to all just get on board. We can read more books- there are thousands of books published every year that entertain and inform without strapping us down while we slide screaming into the bowels of hell.

I wish Mr. Washington luck, hopefully he has learned to keep his feelings to himself, those 'fat' guys know who they are and they do not want to be reminded (especially when they are cast as sensitive, and sexy heterosexuals),and to keep an eye out for the gays in Hollywood who want acceptance for their own, but who are willing to shame and destroy the career of others - they are everywhere.

President George Bush does not understand what is is to truly be a Republican. It has a lot to do with his approach the war, and everything to do with his desire to play fast and loose with our personal freedoms, and with our money.

The war is a mess- agreed, however, the majority of Americans supported the war, and wanted the death of the Muslim terrorist. Most Americans believed the insinuations at the time, that this was an in and out venture and that very few soldiers would die. Many Americans were stupid in that regard, war really is hell on all fronts. President Bush and his immortal V.P.

We care about budgets and we care about growth, we do not believe that our President should sign blank checks to every special interest group in the country.
We really do not believe that our constitution needs to be amended. Those individuals that require this amazing document to be altered pointlessly, do not understand that concept of freedom of morality.
Gays do not need to marry, they are already an abomination to God, why help them on their way to hell, by paying attention to their slack?
Abortion is murder, we know this, even though many of us (myself included) have at one point or another,fallen under the lies that it is our right as women to club our offspring to death.

We do not 'do nuance' but we recognize that we often have to acknowledge the fuzzy areas, if only to understand that pointlessness of Democrats. I am feeling battered because this government has been consistently pissing on the solid rock of freedom out of which this great country was carved. Immigrants recognize this- why are so many Americans having such a hard time with this.
This country was built upon an amazing document, and any attempt to twits it and to shave it down to spice up the quintessential wet dreams of everyone from the Christians to the liberals, if just damned stupid.
The idea that Freedom, is NOT FREE, is not just a damned bumper sticker slogan, it is the battle cry of America to every corner of the world. Why then is this administration, launching an almost daily attack against our freedom. We cannot speak anymore for fear that we could be arrested, we cannot get righteously angry, we cannot participate in protest that may reach the ears of the President or VP Scorpius.
Americans are asked to do the following things- 1.buy more stuff 2.Ignore the fact that we have a -2% savings rate 3.Ignore the fact that every corporation in country has adopted the destructive policy of shipping every bloody high paying job to freaking China, India, freaking Singapore!!! 4. Pretend that there is no inflation, yes, everything is OK- just ignore the fact that you get less in the grocery store for the same dollar amount. 5. Ignore the fact that the energy companies are giddily raping the American consumer, just smile and keep driving to the mall to purchase enough crap made in China to keep every fraudulently calculated index high enough for satans' pundits to chorus "everything is fine".

Now then, the problem is that the 'republicans' who are screaming in support of President Bush,have no idea why they are doing it. It's certainly not the power, it's definately not because they must comply. It seems to me that they are yelling out of fear; because if we all slow down, put away the Amex and focus on the guano that is currently being smeared into the crevices of America, we would lose all hope.

A president is like a parent, and effective parenting starts with the behavior of the parents. What we have learned from Dad and Dad ( OY- I know)is that we may be seen, but not heard. We have learned that they have squandered our financial legacy and that we are responsible for replenishing the coffers. We are bruised and broken and asking for more, are suffering the loss of high paying jobs, compounded by the bankruptcy (serfdom) bill that our president gleefully signed. Millions are starving at home for food, health care,social security,you name it while we spend billions of dollars every month in Afghanistan and Iraq, on Godless and thankless individuals. So I am feeling battered and angry because the only Republican in the current pack of morons who have tossed their hats in the ring, who even seems literate is Ron Paul. Sadly Senator Paul will never be elected in a country where people pay more attention to Idol than to economic growth, and to 'patriotism' over practicality.

I have been writing a book, and it has been hell. Actually the book is done I have simply been attempting to edit.. I have had to acknowledge that I am a tad overbearing.
I sometimes write six sentences when one is quite appropriate. I have to be honest- I really like what I have to say, but I have been reading that one needs to act outside of one's ego in order to write well- or at least get published.

The thing about writing, is that you can sometimes feel closed off from the world, for example:

Rosie O has left the view, beaten into her own flesh by lizzie Hasselbeck. I guess lesbians really don't have 'game' - (sorry, my street lingo never really had a chance to develop) 'Whaa you didn't defend me!!' Yikes
What I thought was cool about the whole thing, was that Lizzie H. seemed to be auditioning for a future job on the Fox Network. You really can't be afraid of defending my President if you work for Fox, and you definitely cannot shrink under the growing power of the crazy gay agenda.
While many people saw this scream fest as a couple of chicks whining, I saw it as one woman doing everything that she could to eviscerate the competition. Rosie O' was a force, an annoying force- but one none the less.
Lizzie H. knew, that eventually she would fade under Rosie's heft (no pun intended) and she simply seized an opportunity and struck. Rosie is loud but she is still a chick who suffers from depression, and caught on the wrong day.... depressed chicks are pretty easy to devastate!!
I eventually saw all the videos of this dust up and my favorite is the one of Rose on her blog dressed down and referring to herself as a 'foster child' - self indulgent little twit!!! Meanwhile Lizzie H has been 'rocking' (--again-- Sorry) the Cheshire grin along with the quiet composure of Lizzie- Queen of England. Nice.
Barbie Walters is still happy, 1.because after Rosie, they have realized that the ratings will always remain high if the audience gets free stuff, Duh and 2. no one really cares to hear the views of a sexually confused , politically insensitive, and self indulgent woman day after day after ........

Is the UN about to suggest this for western men, or only men who happen to live under governments who care nothing about them as people? It is already a fact that millions of men in Africa- uneducated about the nature of this virus, have sought their own remedy by raping young children in order to 'cure' themselves of this death. The UN 'evil remedy' simply tells men to continue living lives filled with debauchery and filth. However they are now poised to publicly deliver a snake oil elixir that allegedly works in 60% of tested males.

My basic problems are:
*that the study was done in South Africa, a country that has turned a blind eye at the atrocity of child rape in that hell hole.

The Democrats who have been whining about the end of the liberation movement in
Iraq are still not appeased. The Iraqi 'government' is now starting to grumble, because they are realizing that it has never been President Bushs' desire to occupy their dirt infested burb.
Indeed, our President knows that true democracy must stand the test against those who see no value in freedom. This war is a nightmare- I cannot fight that- but all war is hell and all war calls cruely for casualities.

bomb. I was pretty annoyed at the fact that we allowed the liberals to
handle the North Korean debate.

So we played chicken with North Korea, and we lost.
We miscalculated their intent, or perhaps ignored their
intent and they defied our promise to not tolerate their
quest for nuclear power.

Every grade schooler can tell you that you never bet

Hello People,

I haven't written in a while because I have been a busy little beaver while working on my book. I just had to comment on this recent thing with the Pope.
Seriously, why should the Pope apologize for the truth?

Islam is a murderous religion and we can easily look back to the Christian in Afghanistan who was almost killed because he dared to leave the Islamic faith.

This desperate move to save face or life by lying to the world and to these murderous people only serves to lend strength to their crazy schemes. Christians do not murder those who reject Christ, indeed it is Gods' law to not murder.

The muslims however seek to increse their number through threats and intimidation. Their 'love allah or die' mentality should not be supported by a civilized world. This silly push for 'tolerance' for muslims puts us all in danger and gives those vicious monsters among them the fuel they need to dominate and destoy.
Now are all muslims bad? Absolutely not, however they are all misguided, blinded from the truth of their own religion. Sadly if any poor Muslim comes to the truth he will have to weigh truth against his life! He will not have the freedom to say no to Mohammed. PLEASE do not email me to explain the difference between Mohammed and Allah- I get it- we all get it.
Islam is all about power and destruction, the concept of freedom is foreign to the majority of the participants. Don't believe me? Just take a look at all the children being forced to marry grown men in the recently liberated Afghanistan. The pictures of these girls who have lost the innocence of childhood will break your heart.
Consider this fact: if the free world allows an ant to crawl on a bloody koran- well it'll be murder!
Yeesh! Americans are currently held hostage because of the Islamic advancing death march against the west- we are losing our freedoms to the need to protect us from these nut balls and why- because we apologize to them, teach school children about them, and lie to ourselves about the true intent of this 'religion'.
Yes, many muslims have immigrated to the west and they are now peaceful tax payers, but one need only stir many up with even one word (while using their holy book as evidence) to see their true nature.
The Pope has miscalculated badly- by apologizing, and even now the muslims are screaming for blood. The criminals and terrorists that are such a vital part of Islam want nothing but death and the destruction of the free world, and I guess they have decided to start with the Catholic church.

I sometimes feel that I may be the only real Republican in the United States. We seem to be talking the talk in this country but alas we need to really walk.
We talk about liberty and the invidual, yet Americans behave as if freedom and liberty are french. No one wants to talk about true Republican values, no one wants to ruffle any feathers. Our journalists behave as if they are pod people- indeed even the New York Times cannot adequately defend itself and yes Republicans do read the Times.
We ignore proof of filthy politics and lying politicians, even under the glare of multiple video footage. We refuse to add 2+3 much less think critically, but at least we have our president and Tony Snow to calm us down, to get us back on track, to tell us what really matters. And by the way- what matters is not the economy, and the fact that the FEDS will not be able to fix it, and the debt/wealth through consumerism
and let's not forget The post 9-11 call to "charge"!!!!!

So after years of passing and signing practically every spending measure that the tax and spend politicians can think of we get a do over. No matter how angry I get at the President for acting like a Democrat at an open buffet- the Democrats cannot get it together enough to even show up for the horse race.
Maybe they are going to adopt McCain? This guy switches sides faster than a prostitute in D.C. (or so I have heard)
So we get another shot- another chance to clean up the mess, and by mess, I mean the economy. We can go on as long as we can, talking about economic growth and unemplopyment dips. Better yet though - we can stop ignoring the millions who have dropped off the unemployment compensation rolls and have yet to secure employment.
It is super cool that we can just forget that they exist!!!!!!!!!!!
People like that guy in Houston Texas who at 48 is back home with his parents, along with his wife and their three teenagers. (third IT job outsourced -India)
That couple in Michigan who have had to sell their home of 15 years because they no longer work at a plant (one guess why) and they spent six months eating away at their meager savings.
Or that couple in Florida who can no longer help their son with his college expenses because - well- they had to sell their FIRST house, because one of them now works at Walmart and they could not afford the payments. And they are actually pretty darned grateful for that job at Walmart because this guy can fix a gosh darned roof but in the middle of a "housing boom" no one seemed to be hiring a LEGAL American.
Say!!!!!!!!!!! What gives?

The President Speaks

So we are going to send our National Guardsmen to the border to essentially baby sit the border patrol.
We are going to install:

$$$$$$$ high tech fences
$$$$$$$ motion sensors
$$$$$$$ infrared cameras

The 6000 members fron the guard will operate the systems of surveillance, they wil train, but they will have no real law enforcement duties- Oh- OK.
The President went on to assure us that Mexico is our friend, however I feel saddened that the President does not seem to have any real concept of friendship.
Friends do not drop by and refuse to leave. They do not expect to be fed and treated medically- all on your dime. Friends do not, after knowing that they are unwanted, invite the rest of their family to be of further burden upon you economically and socially.

After months of loud propaganda we hear that yes, we will have a foreign worker program, one that matches eager workers with eager American employers. Apparently all the workers here are NOT JUST WORKING ON PICKING PRODUCE.
I am guessing that they have moved on to the American jobs that pay a real wage.

The President has no respect for those of us who have voted him into office. This is really difficult for me to accept- a Republican who does not care for America.

Americans should NOT placate Vincente Fox

As a conservative I am a bit anxious to see what the President has to say about the problems along our southern border.
If the people on te Fox Network are correct- the President plans to position 5000 or more of our already stretched National Guardsmen on the southern border to assist the Border Patrol.
Adding insult to our ongoing economic injuries the President had to ensure Vincente Fox that he had nothing to worry about and that the presence of the military on the border does not indicate a plan to militarize the border.

Why was this assurance important to Fox?

Well, roughly 85% of the 12 million or more illegal aliens in the USA send enough bucks back to Mexico, enough to represent the #1 reason the Mexicans have not yet called Fox on his incompetence.
Our President Bush wants to assure Mexico that we will still be their #1 financial provider.
President Bush wants to assure the mexicans that despite what the majority of legal residents and citizens want he will ignore his base and every other American to satisfy mexico.
President Bush will continue to beat the dead horse of Mexicans coming here to pick cherries, lettuce whatever; he will ignore the facts that there are construction workers - Americans - who have been passed over for illegal aliens, this during a housing boom!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a child my Grandmother was big on manners- elbows off the table, chewing with mouths closed, do not discuss money with others, never brag, NEVER SWEAR!! NEVER.
Of course, I was born in another country and when I moved to the U.S. I realised that these rules were not commonly supported by the majority. Unfortunately it has only gotten worse and now people curse as if it is a substitution for breathing.
During a free moment a few mornings ago I tuned into The View- that 'charming' roundtable of women that I suppose represent all the groups of women in our society- or at least the ones that count to feminists.
In that one show, these women referred to each other a "b****es more than three times. They were laughing and tossing themselves around in such a way that I was actually embarrassed for them.
Meredith Viera(sp) after becomming annoyed by one of the women declared "I am so over you B****es" No doubt she was referring to her new job as co-host at The Today Show on NBC. I guess Matt Lauer will have to get used to vulgar remarks, but then again I get the feeling that a male co-host and millions of dollars could buy her some manners.
But the damage is done, millions of women watch the view, and many of them probably feel that these highly paid women are in the know, and indeed, many may actually feel that they should be regarded and their actions copied.
While I do believe that manners should be taught at home, those individuals who hold the previledge of reaching the ears of our society should clean up their language.
I often wonder what people who curse do when overheard by their children. What do they do when their daughters respond to the salutation "B***H" from a boy.
Regrettably, I think that many adults care more about their momentary gratification, than about their daily contamination of our society.

Research on democracy

I have discovered that doing research for a book often leads to tons of other ideas for books more interesting that the one on the storyboard. I plan my book with schetches and bubbles of ideas, this keeps me happy and engaged because writing is brutal.
Laughing at myself about the sorry fact that I am a Republican in a world where all the repubs seem desperate to behave like democrats, also keeps the sad chuckles coming.

I am disgusted with my party. I am troubled by my president.

I may very well have a file at NSA headquarters because a fews weeks ago I deviated from my normal calling pattern and telephoned a gentleman in Boston who is from Morocco. Ok I was inquiring about his handmade pillows for my business but who cares!
As an immigrant I was one of those goofy people who actually believed in this "freedom" that is continually promised by this country - mea culpa
It saddens me to realize that President Bush is more concerned with the goings on of the average American than with the fact that we have millions of undocumented OOOPS
illegal aliens streaming across the border.

Apparently the government, according to President Bush, is not "trolling" but instead they are seeking to spot broken trends in one calling history. When you listen to our impartial journalists you get the feeling that they are all ggofy too. They keep polling - asking Mr. and Mrs. America if they will just give a little more freedo to keep from being blown to bits or whatever...
Those who bring us the news do not seem to realize that the government already has practically everything on us. They have access to our:

"private" emails
"private" telephone records
"private" credit records
"private" medical histories

Our banks report our every move to them and Americans talk of sacrificing even more fredom to ensure their next breath.

FACT: Only God can ensure your next breath

They have been so anesthesized by the media and indeed by their own decision to be bystanders in their own democracy that they do not realize that there is nothing left to sacrifice. They worry about their own overspent undersaved tommorrows and they think nothing of what they will leave for their children.
I am sick when a Republican President for whom I voted twice - Yes twice - decides that he has to use the power of the most noble office in the world to work out his sick issues.
President George Bush, is now dealing with his broken record. He has chosen not to behave rationally but to react like a truculent child.

He has been chastized for breaking a precious gift and he is now smashing what is left in spite. I pray that he stops before all is lost. We are now engaged in a fight for freedom ( whatever the heck that means) in Iraq, the Taliban in Afghanistan seems to have reorganized and these wars will be managed by the next administration.

Say what if the Republicans do not retain power?

Are we comfortable allowing Democrats such open access to the lives of Americans?

Do the Republicans believe that once they rape the Constitution with the slimy tool of semantics that the Democrats will politely look away?

Do we really want Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton peering into our lives?

Legal American; Will Work for $24.00 an Hour

I read this weekend about the US spending $600 per person to fly illegal aliens back to their home south of our border.

A man from El Salvador stated that this was his third time being deported. I was amazed- in some states three strikes can get you life in the pokey.
Illegal aliens however can break our laws year after year without consequences. Even after they are caught and rewarded with a trip home they return to violate us again. An American citizen or legal resident would not be awarded such lenience.

I was even more troubled when this jerk reported he was paid $24.00 per hour as a construction worker!!!!!!
24 freaking dollars!!
This is not a guy who is stealing low level jobs from Americans- he is stealing a middle income wage from a tax paying American.
The country is awash with construction workers from Mexico and other Latin American countries and I can assure you that they are NOT all paid a minimum wage.
In my state every construction site is populated with illegal aliens. I would wager a pretty taxed dollar that the same problem exists in every state.

To test my theory- try stopping at one of these construction sites and ask for directions, better yet ask for the site manager- bemusing and sad all at once.
No one speaks english- and why should they? American employers - who are already taxed at a lower rate than the average middle class family are so desperate to avoid paying a decent wage to an American that requiring english speakers is just too much of a bother.
By the way there are many Legal Americans who would gladly work for $24.00 an hour.
These people are building a separate country within our borders and the current debate in the nations' capital only serve notice that the politicians at least do not care.

Betrayed by My President

You expect something when you vote twice to place a man in public office. You expect for instance that the Republican president will behave like a damn Republican. I think we realized after he won re-election that the biggies like gay marriage were simply foreplay to attract the Christian conservatives. OK we were duped - tough.

What confuses me is the desire this president seems to have to destroy the country. He has shown his preference for hispanics and has even excused their vulgar disregard for the immigration laws. We get it- hispanics are the tops with George Bush. I just cannot figure it out. On one side we have thousands of children violating truancy laws and roaming the streets all while hoisting mexican flags and screaming mexico; on the other side we have a President and an equally daffy Senate defending these people as Americans.

Why- because employers do not want to pay American citizens and legal residents a fair wage?? Absolutely, this is about legal slavery. Really who among us would not want our very own slave?
Gosh- I would; you know some poor jerk to clean and cook and rake my leaves and clean out my pond and drain the jacuzzi - heck yeah.
However- slavery is no longer legal in the U.S. but these worthless individuals want to take the country back to an economically sick place.

Yesterday, I listened to a student protesting in Houston.I'll paraphrase her declarstion:
"...America ain't nothin' and won't be nothin' without Mexicans..."
I almost vomited, because what she was saying is that she has neither respect nor love for this country. It is haed to accept that an illegal alien who is currently being given a free education on our tax dollars is anti-American.

The president should be ashamed- damned ashamed.
He has pledged to protect us from terrorists however he has left our southern border open to people who have no intention of raising this country up. He has left us to wallow under their new law-
Hold the country hostage in order to get your way. Why can't out elected officials see that these criminals cross our borders to feed on our good intentions in order to enrich and empower countries from which they have 'fled'

Those south of our borders and their north-of-the-border co-conspirators do not seek to build America- they seek only to rebuild their countries here.
There are millions of people around the world who would kill to live in this country, let me list a few:

Illegal Hispanic students Protest!!!!!!

So there I was- doing research on my book on illegal immigration when I saw a disturbing article in the LA Times. Apparently a bunch of illegal hispanic students decided that they were unhappy with the current debate over their socioeconomic attack on our country. The decided that they were going to walk out of classes in protest over the proposed fence along our border with Mexico.

Apparently the free education that they are currently receiving from the Los Angeles school district is not enough. Apparently illegal aliens need everything that we Americans get with our legal citzenship.

It does not matter to them that the majority of immigrants in the US had to stand in long lines around American embassies around the world, just for a chance to see this country. No- this unruly bunch of criminals- ( yes illegal aliens are criminals) believe that they have the right to force those pointlessly debating their crime to accept their point of view.
Perhaps, the schools do not teach kids to think critically, so perhaps this is why these kids think that they have the right to protest on behalf of their parents illegal activity.

Those south of the border have absolutely no respect for a clear border- they drag their children behind them with no clear plan other than that of stealing jobs and higher wages from Americans, stealing also from immigrants who legally stood in line.
These students now realize that their parent have fed them a raw deal. They will leave high school with no legal entry into the higher education system. Many of these American educated kids have no future but to join their selfish parents in landscaping, house cleaning, garment making and other enterprises that are swiftly driving down decent wages and damaging entrepreneurs in the United States.

The hispanics DO NOT embrace the American dream of other immigrants- they seek instead to recreate their old wolds here.
Why would they need higher wasgs when ten families can share a home in America and still be more comfortable that a shack an Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala - or wherever. Their standards are not very high and now their children- after having been exposed to the real gifts of being in America - want more.
Why should people who scamper across the border- squat in this country- refuse to learn the language and seek to destroy our laws be allowed to remain.
Perhaps the LAUSD hispanic students (73% Latino!!!!!!!!) should look to their parents and ask why they have been put in an illegal situation that will never end well for them.

We need to END this debate. What message do we send when we try to decide if those who break laws should be rewarded? Those south of our border know that there is indecision and at this very moment thousands of illegals are scurring across the border- hoping to get something for nothing.

Consider this:

In many parts of this country families lie about their residence in order to get their child into a better school district. Often when this crime is uncovered, the kid is expelled and the parents are made to repay the school district. However- illegal hispanics get free education and districts do not even bat an eye. The President needs to stop this debate and we need to start treating every illegal hispanic with the same consideration that we treat those from - let's see........Haiti
and send them home - along with their ungrateful offspring.

Houstonians are sick of New Orleans Evacuees

A sociologist in Houston recently polled 700 Houstonians to gauge their acceptance of the evacuees into our community.
About 50% polled were sick of them and felt that they did not add benefits to the city. I suspect that the 23% that stated that the city is better of with the influx of the destitute were simply lying.
Houstonians are generally friendly people I know this because I have lived here for almost two years. People srike up conversation in the supermarket, at the gas pump, drivers honk and give the thumbs up to chubby walkers - this city can be awesome.

But Houstonians are tired of the crime and the open complaints of our new neighbors. They get housing but the commute is too far, they now own their homes for the first time but it is too far away from the Christmas tree vendors, they're uncomfortable blah, blah...

There are Houstonians who are still homeless- even with refugees from new Orleans waking up in new homes. The refugees can always find something tocomplain about.
Houston has provided continual support for thousands of people while many Houstonians- native Texans still suffer.

So yes - everyone is tired if the complaints and we are especially tired of the crime.
Crime is up in Houston- and after months of not wanting to connect the dots, our local officials are now openly searching for and capturing dangeroug gang members from New Orleans.
These criminals did not accept the openess of the city as a good thing, they did not embrace a fresh start, instead they saw Houston only as a dry place to conduct old business.
The problem is not with Houstonians, but with the old guard in New Orleans. Perhaps if they had stepped on the necks of the criminal class at home we would not be dealing with their filth here.
New Orleans was a crime ridden cesspool and nothing of substance was done to stem the flow of
violence at the source.
Now that they are our problem we need to show the refugees that Houstonians do not take a slack approach crime. Apparently at least 50% of Houstonians are honest enough to not support the liberal desire to coddle criminals. Perhaps in a few months the other half will be honest enough to honestly answer a new poll.

Debra Lafave: The ugliest woman in the world

Apparently there are some Americans who believe that the VICTIM of that non person Debra Lafave was not badly hurt because she is 'easy on the eyes' - people can be stupid.

This CHILD was targeted, and raped. period!
I'm not even going to address, the fact that a man would typically have to serve some period of time for a similar rape ( recent insane court decisions nonwithstanding)
I almost vomited when I saw her at the recent press conference, she was actually smiling.
I actually thought that it was a joke- I could not imagine a rapist holding a press conference. She laughed, posed planned her future ( she's going to be a journalist)

What popped into my mind when she mentioned Journalism, was Richard Gere in Runaway Bride when he uttered the words ".. I'm a journalist.. a truth teller.." or some such nonsense.
This liar, this paedophile, this common vulgar rapist is now being trained to master words. This horrible woman who blamed the press for the trials of this child and indeed for her crimes,
has decided to become a journalist. The press ate her up, like warm pie. They got her to laugh, toss her head, call the name of God, all while never taking responsibility.

When is it going to stop- when are people going to realize that we can not allow these open and violent assaults upon our children. They cannot fight back- even when they are boys and even when they are teenagers!!!!
These animals feed on their innocence and they NEVER stop. Why should they- there is never adequate punishment for their crimes.

Debra LaFave has found herself a fiancee, OY!! and no doubt they will procreate, and then she will have access to her own children. I pray that she never gets her filthy hands on another child. I pray that her fiancee wakes up and cut this paedophile off at the pass.
I hope that the thoughtless animals that continue to shrug this rape off are not parents- because only God knows what they would permit around their own children.

Parents need to watch out for these monsters. Tell your children to KEEP NO SECRETS, please,
a molested child is never whole - ever. These animals leave scars that are always tender, painful under the scab. This is not a passive crime the hymen of this childs' soul was ripped away, and she has effectively frightened him to the point of speechlessness. This is not good, she raped him, she left him with the weight of her filth and now she is free because she robbed him of his own tongue. She has left this child saddled with so much shame that now he is hiding, curing crying through therapy while she happily skips ahead.

It is a pity that we live in such a civilized society, a pity that she can walk with her head held high while this poor child hides - it is a pity that she will not be made to pay. A mother should have some say in the disposition of her childs' rapist.

Debra Lafave should not be able to avail herself of the American press in order to promote her filthy choices, She is an animal and should be treated as such.
What should we do to rid our society of these people?
Why is it wrong to imprison them for life when we know that they are repeat offenders and that their crimes leave indelible stains, why do we coddle them?
Why do we allow them to pretend that they have a disorder?

Why not call them what they are - evil.

Killing Christians in Afghanistan!

Sixteen years ago Abdul Rahman converted to Christianity. Today in a free Afghanistan, he has been held over for trial.

His crime:

the rejection of Islam. Apparently, Muslims consider this act of choice an act of apostacy - and this is punishable by death.

What I find interesting in all of this is the fact that we have over twenty thousand - yes 20,000 troops in this country. These brave men and women fought and died to free them from the tyranny of the Taliban. Americans fought and died to give them the freedom to choose their path in life, and the Afghanistan government and courts conveniently forget that many of the soldiers that guard their growing 'democracy' today are Christians.

Apparently Mr. Rahman was outed by his family after a dispute over his religious choice, and they turned him over to the authorities (sixteen years later).
Now as an American, I can can understand family problems, (you know - relatives whose convenient disappearance would make your life a lot more harmonious) however, this has less to do with the Rahmans, and is more of a reflection of a government and a justice system that is neck deep into condemnation and bigotry.

To accept- or rather, to court democracy, and yet attempt to treat this gift as an open buffet - to select the rights that strenghten one group yet violate another is simply criminal.

But wait!! there is hope- if Mr. Rahman is found insane, his life may be spared and he will be released. However one needs to question, why an individual would need the protection of insanity within the confines of a democratic society.

We need to be careful not to accept this vulgar offer of insanity an a fortunate event- because friends, to jugdge a Christian insane simply because he is a Christian, is an attempt to invalidate Jesus Christ.

The leaders within the Afghanistan government have absolutely no desire to embrace true democracy! Instead their call to the United Stated for help was simply a desperate measure to control the Taliban. It is obvious that those animals did not simply spring to life overnight- indeed that type of control is a festering sore that developes over years of neglect. Once the Taliban took hold of the society- the only tool availble to break such a vice grip on liberty was war. Now that the majority of these Muslim animals no longer hold the society at will, the muslim government wants to return to the norm- you know control, without the face slashing, amputation of limbs, peltings with rocks and other unpleasant offshoots of tyranny.

Freedom is never free, and there are real costs at every turn. Women might want to read, young girls may want to uncover their heads and feel Gods' sunlight on their hair, Someone might find the love and the salvation of the one and only GOD. Someone may open his mouth to praise Jesus, and he may begin to say things that rock the rocks in Afghanistan. He may do something 'crazy' like say 'no' to mohammed. He might follow the Son of God and not a mere man.
He, like Abdul Rahman may upset the established untruths in his family and still expect to live despite the fact that he is a Christian.

These are the gifts of a democracy: the right to question, analyse,choose, change ( if that is youir wish) and serve Jesus Christ when he calls.
To lable Mr. Rahman as insane- may save his life in Afghanistan- but it will also tell the world, especially the 20,000+ soliders that are protecting them, that the only thing that Afghanistan wants from democracy is a do over when it comes to the Taliban.

George Bush does not need Jessica Simpson

Recently the Republican party has been issued a public rejection from pop singer/actress Jessica Simpson. It struck me after all the press coverage, that there is this belief that the Republican party needs to rub shoulders with just about anyone. There was a time that my party stood for fairness, hard work and pride; and while the majority of Republicans still hold to these values the party leadership seems at a loss.
What reasons could anyone in our party offer that ms. Simpson would add anything of value to any get together. Perhaps the planners should remember the strength of the Republican Party was a gift from the conservative right. We actually believed that Republican leadership took a dim view of vulgarity, and the absence of morality. We believed that the views of liberals are not the things that engage us, however with this desperate inclusion of this pop singer....
What are conservatives to think? Jessica Simpson and her ilk did not put President Bush in the White House, they did not fill the House and Senate - Ms. Simpson represents divorce, debauchery and if we can judge by the televised clips from her last movie(insert your honest opinion here)
The Republican party needs to return to the Republican BASE.
We need to reject the unholy values of hollywood liberals and focus on the families in America who turned out to vote this President into office for two terms!!
In the grand sceme of things, Jessica Simpson does not register on the Consevative Republican radar. She is comic relief at best and an annoying distraction if we stray from the tasks at hand. We are flirting with the potential loss of moral leadersip in the White House in a few short years and also in the House and Senate. The party can not afford to entertain loose distractions. The next time A Republican feels the need to invite eye candy for a fund raising event- perhaps, they should consider their voting base.
